Obituary

Newton was born Newton Michael Ayers Ill in Birmingham, Al on May 29, 1960 to the late Newton and Mae Ola Ayers. After the sudden death of his parents, he and his siblings were blessed to be adopted by their great aunt and uncle, the late Mr. Thelmer and Ollie Givens.

He accepted Christ at an early age and joined the First Baptist Church of Birmingham, where here was baptized.

He was formerly educated in the Alabama school system, where he attended West End and Glenn High Schools. He enjoyed sports and lettered in football. He later enlisted in the United States Army and faithfully served his country for a period of 6 years. During his time of service, he received decorations, medals, ribbons, and badges. While stationed in California he attended Monterey Peninsula College where he also played football.

In 1995 Newton married Debra Cain and to that union one child was born.

In 2016 he retired from Rheem, where he was a faithful and dedicated employee for twenty-seven years.

On September 27, 2017, he peacefully closed his eyes and went home to be with the Lord, forever free from sickness, sorrow, pain, and death. He is survived by his wife of 23 years Debra Givens, Prattville, AL; one son, Jaron Cain, Prattville, AL; one sister, Sonya (Roderick) Mann, Lawrenceville, GA; one brother, Ricky (Shelia) Givens, Lawrenceville, GA and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
