Mrs. Ruby Lee Houser age 75, a resident of Autaugaville, Alabama passed away Friday, January 5, 2018 at Baptist Medical Center South.  Funeral service will be held Saturday, January 13, 2018 at 12pm from Greater Saint Joseph AME Zion Church , 224 South Pickett Street Autaugaville, Alabama with Rev. Grandville Anderson Pastor officiating.  Burial to follow at Walter Jones Cemetery, Pickettmill Road Autaugaville, Alabama.

OBITUARY

 

 Ruby  Lee Houser was born August 16, 1942 in Dutch Bend, AL. to the late Young and Lillie B. Houser. She was affiliated with Greater Saint Joseph where she attended as a faithful member. She was preceded in death by her father Young Houser; mother Lillie B. Houser; two sisters Nellie Willis and Ola Jackson, one brother Young Houser Jr.

Ruby went home to be with the Lord on Friday, January 5, 2018 at the age of 75. She leaves to cherish her memories: two sons, Willie (LaShonda) Houser of Prattville, AL and Mack Arthur Houser of Autaugaville, AL; four sisters, Gladys Stoudemire of Detroit, MI, Bertha Newsome of Detroit, MI, (Bernice Houser of Chicago, IL and Edna Houser of Chicago, IL; three brothers, Edward Houser of  Detroit MI, (Bobby Houser of AutaugaviIIe, AL, and Charles Houser of Chicago, IL; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends.

Ruby received her education at Autauga County Training School She was an experienced worker at Capitol Victorian furniture Co. As a hobby, Ruby enjoyed barbequing and frying fish for family and friends in the community. Ruby's cooking was adored by many especially her granddaughter Aagresha.

She was very stern and steadfast once she made her decision even with her two sons that she loved dearly. Ruby was an advocate sports fan from the beginning of time while raising her sons. Her love for  sports continued as she supported her grandson Clint. Ruby thought there were no greater little ballplayers than Clint.

I extend my deepest condolences to the family. I will keep you in my prayers as you mourn the loss of a strong soldier of God and a devoted mother. She will be missed but her legacy lives on within you.
