Mr. Leon DeRamus, age 73, a resident of Marbury, Alabama passed away Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at his residence. Funeral service will be held Saturday, March 31, 2018 at 1pm from Old Kingston Missionary Baptist Church, 963 County Road 40 West Prattville, Alabama with Rev. Ben Carter, Pastor officiating. Burial to follow at Motley Cemetery, 1674 County Road 40 West Prattville, Alabama.
OBITUARY
Mr. Leon James DeRamus was born on August 15, 1944 in Autauga County, to Mary Ella DeRamus and Reverend Nathaniel DeRamus. He was united in Holy Matrimony to Leslie White-DeRamus. From this union, two children were born.
He accepted Christ at an early age at the Peace Baptist Church #2. He later changed his membership to Old Kingston Missionary Baptist Church, where he served as a faithful member until his death. He served as president of the Male Chorus and started the "Gospel Train".
He is preceded in death by his mother Mary Ella DeRamus, father, Reverend Nathaniel DeRamus, and brother Leo DeRamus.
He leaves to cherish his memories to his loving wife Leslie White-DeRamus; two daughters Temeka White and Tracy McCrary: two sons; Michael (Erica) White and Leonard White; a loving mother-in-law, Bernice DeRamus; three step children, Henry Joseph White, Jeffery White, and Kimberly White, along with 6 surviving aunts and 2 surviving uncles.
He also leaves to cherish his memories to sisters, Minister Mary Louise (Ashberry) Goodson of Prattville, Alabama, Mrs. Jeannie (Ted) Woodard; a brother, A. Wesley (Linda) DeRamus, all of Prattville, Alabama; brother and sister-in-laws, James DeRamus, Willie DeRamus, John L. DeRamus, and Charlie (Adrienne) DeRamus, Ralph (Ida) Williams and Jerry Brazzley, Minister Edith (Alphonso) Robinson, Lula (James) Motley, Geneva DeRamus, Joyce DeRamus and Paulette Reese, along with nineteen grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
