Benjamin Franklin, Jr. was born on October 5, 1949 in Montgomery, Alabama to Ben Franklin, Sr. and Bessie Mae Isome Franklin. He was educated in the Jefferson County school system in Birmingham, Alabama. He later attended Alabama A& M in Huntsville, Alabama. Growing up, Ben was a hard worker and very competitive. In July of 1969, he joined the United States Marine Corps. While he was in the military, he earned his rank as a Sergeant Class E-5. He received a National Defense Medal as well a Vietnam Service Medal for his outstanding accomplishments. Ben was a family man who lived a very happy and fruitful lifestyle. Some of his favorite past times included singing the blues, playing the guitar, traveling, and spending time with his children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He enjoyed outdoor activities like fishing. He is known for his humor, jokes and being the natural comedian he was. Over the years, he has done various jobs. His main job position was held as a supervisor for a number of years, for a large construction company.
