Benita entered her earthly home on January 29, 1965. As God would have it, on November 14, 2019, she entered into her heavenly home.
She is preceded in death by her son, Jamale Marcus; grandmother, Ada Mae Thomas: grandfather, Anderson Thomas, Sr.; aunts, Bertha Fitzpatrick, Ida Mae Washington, Evangelist Dorothy Richardson; uncles, James Edward Thomas, Henry Lewis Thomas; great aunt Georgia Anna Lewis; special cousins, Sandra Thomas, Darrel Thomas.
Benita was baptized and confessed Jesus Christ as her personal savior at an early age. She loved the Lord and all God's people.
Benita served faithfully as a member of New Vision Worship Center under the leadership of Bishop Raymond L. Thomas. She loved to sing for the Lord and gave God all praises. She was a deaconess, Inspirational Choir member and president of the children's ushers (only to name a few of her dedications). Benita was a 1984 graduated of Sidney Lanier High School and was very proud to be a POET!
Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her family. Those left to celebrate her life are her husband Michael Lowery, Sr.; two daughters, Donmarinita Marcus, Alexandria Marcus; nine sons Jamario Marcus, Donald (Jalisa) Marcus, Malachi Marcus, Micajah Marcus, Michael Lowery, Jr., Christian Lowery, Jacob Lowery, Zephaniah Lowery, Zacchaus Lowery; grandbabies, DonJanae, Tykevion, Malachi Jr., and Serenity Marcus, Khiersten and Khar'lee Rudolph, and Kinzley Lowery; her mother Pastor Roberta Minor; father, Rev. Mathew Jackson, Sr., siblings, Albert (Elaine) Kemp, Dewayne (Betty) Minor, John Minor, Mathew ( Ann) Jackson, Jr. Carlotta Jackson, Latrice Jackson, Joseph Jackson; aunts and uncles, Shirley (Stachia) McGhee, Vicki (Clyde) Howard, Jeanette Thomas, Horace Thomas, Alfonso (Erica ) Thomas, Jesse (Rebecca) Fair, David (Kay) Thomas, Larry (Susie) Thomas, Anderson Thomas, Jr., Mattie Jackson, Vera Hicks, stepson LeDeerrius Lowery; mother-in-law Lessie Lowery.
She also leaves her memories to her in-laws, Cynthia, Bobby and Acquanetta Lowery; Michelle, Onekia, Quincey and Amber Bell; her God babies, Shewandria Meadows, Khloe Crittenden, Bre' Unna Carter, Andre and Eboni Thomas; sisters from love, LaTonya (Darrell) Walker, Lisa Thomas, Rosalyn (Shelby) Meadows, Vilinda (Bass) Tyson. She also leaves to cherish her memories to a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
