Douglas Melton "Doug" was born on April 24, 1962 to the late Claudie and Julia Bell Melton, Autauga County. He confessed Christ at an early age and joined The Bethel Grove Baptist Church under the leadership of C. K. Davis. He later joined Anointed Remnant International Ministries under the leadership of Bishop Dr. W. L. Bradley and SIP Dr. Gwendolyn Bradley where he was a faithful servant. Doug received his crown and took his rest with his heavenly Father on October 11, 2019. He was preceded in death by his father Claudie Melton and his mother Julia Bell Melton, and his sister Ruthie Lee Melton.
Doug graduated from Billingsley High school class of 1981, Billingsley, AL. He played football for the Billingsley Bears. Doug was the owner of Melton Construction and he was also HVAC Certified. He enjoyed cooking, laughing, giving orders, and spending time with his family and friends.
Doug's Legacy will be cherished and remember by his loving and devoted wife Erica Melton, of Prattville, AL; two sons Berman Sheppard (Keshia) Montgomery, AL; Jakob'e Smith, Prattville, AL. four daughters Kayle'l Oneal and Precious Merchant, both of Prattville. Moreka Oneal, Millbrook, AL; and Nicole Melton, Montgomery, AL; four grandchildren, Landen, Cayden, Brayden, and Jaidyn; one brother, Carl Melton, Canton, OH; three sisters, Evelyn Edwards, Selma, AL; Carolyn Shelton and Mary Melton, both of Tuscaloosa, AL; A loving mother-in-law, Ella George, Prattville, AL; two loving and supportive cousins, Addie Nunn and Bernard Laister; a special and dear aunt, Addie Crum; four special friends Carvin Thomas, Ralph Pruitt, John Spivey, and Jamel AL-Badini. A host of friends and other relatives.
