Elder Willie Smith Obituary

Elder Willie James Smith was born March 29, 1957 in Prattville, AL to the late Charles & Betty Jo Smith, Sr.  He passed away surrounded by family on Saturday January 11, 2020 at Baptist Medical Center South in Montgomery, AL.  Elder accepted Christ at an early age and joined Bethlehem Lutheran Church. Later in life God gave him a vision to start a ministry named Reach Out and Touch Holiness Ministry as the Pastor.  He served faithful as the Pastor for twelve years.
Elder was preceded in death by his parents Charles Smith, Sr. and Betty Jo Smith; sister, Lorraine Smith; brothers: Alvin Smith and Charles Smith, Jr.; and nephew Antwan Smith.
He leaves to cherish his many beloved memories, and will be greatly missed by his wife of 42 years, Barbara Smith; his four children: Andre (Chantal) Howard of Millbrook, AL; Temarcus Smith, Tawan Smith, and Vernica Smith all of Prattville, AL.  A special son / nephew Darell (Tamela) Smith and a special daughter / niece Tiffany Williams, Skyler Smith, Monicka Smith, Kamani Howard, and Andre Howard, Jr.; two aunts Gracie (Ben) Slogan of Bronx, New York; Ella Mae DeBardelaben of Birmingham, AL; two uncles Horace (Pearl) Minor of Atlanta, GA; Robert (Bertha) Minor of Augusta, GA; two nieces: Lashunda (Charles) Turner and Crystal (Michael) Smith; one nephew: Chris Smith; Step-mother: Lela Smith; a very special and devoted aunt Kretricia Smith; two sister-in-law's: Mary Burns, Jeanetta (Larry) Carroll; four brothers-in-laws: Norman (Dorothy) Golson, Isaac (Wanda) Owens, Gregory (Tedra) Owens and Jeffrey Lamar; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, spiritual daughters, sons, and grandchildren.
A special friend: Rose Mary Brown; four best friends: Pastor Myron Smoke, Pastor William Cromblin, Pastor Ben Carter, and Deacon Larry Morgan; two special mothers' in Christ: Geraldine Howard and Annie Bell Tyus.
