Eldred Wayne Holyfield was born November 21, 1957 to RC and Sarah Holifield both of whom preceded him in death.  He was the youngest of seven children.  He accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Lily Hill Baptist Church.  Later he and three of his siblings moved their membership from Lily Hill Baptist Church to Mt Sinai Missionary Baptist Church.

Eldred received an Honorable Discharge after 6 years with the US Army National Guard.  In 1983 Eldred united in marriage with Gwendolyn Robinson.  To this union one son, Christopher, was born.  He retired after 33 years with International Paper, formerly know as Union Camp.
