Mr. Eldred Wayne Holyfield  "E W"  age 61 a resident of Old Kingston Community Prattville, Alabama.  U.S. Army National Guard Veteran  passed away Wednesday, January 23, 2019 at Prattville Baptist Hospital Prattville, Alabama.  Funeral service will be held  Saturday, February 2, 2019 at 11am from Mount Sinai Missionary Baptist Church, 1814 County Road 57 Prattville, Alabama with Rev. David L. Benton, Pastor officiating.  Burial to follow at Gibbons Cemetery, County Road 57 Prattville, Alabama.  With Funeral Honors and Patriot Guard Riders.

Eldred Wayne Holyfield was born November 21, 1957 to RC and Sarah Holifield both of whom preceded him in death.  He was the youngest of seven children.  He accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Lily Hill Baptist Church.  Later he and three of his siblings moved their membership from Lily Hill Baptist Church to Mt Sinai Missionary Baptist Church.

Eldred was educated in the Autauga County School System.  When Eldred was in High School, he worked part-time, saved his money and purchased a motorcycle.  He enjoyed riding with his friends Bruce Whitaker and Elijah "Manny Boy" Goodson.  After graduating from Autauga High School, he engaged in Karate training.  Some of Eldred's favorite activities were fishing, cooking, working in his yard and reading his Bible.

Eldred received an Honorable Discharge after 6 years with the US Army National Guard.  In 1983 Eldred united in marriage with Gwendolyn Robinson.  To this union one son, Christopher, was born.  He retired after 33 years with International Paper, formerly know as Union Camp.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his son Christopher Wayne, four sisters, Ruby Davis, (Reuben) Columbia SC, Catherine Houser, (James), Birmingham, AL., Roshelle Mason (Maurice) Detroit MI, Rhonda Smith, (Reverend Fredick Williams), Augusta Georgia.  Two brothers, Robert C. Holyfield, (Loretta), Christan Holyfield (Amy), all of Prattville AL., two uncles, three aunts, three nephews, twelve nieces, a special friend, Veronica Green, and a host of other relatives and friends.

I am very sorry for your loss. My heart goes out to you in this difficult time. One encouraging thought you might find comforting is found at John 5:28, 29. “The hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out.” God gives us this beautiful hope that he will soon resurrect our dead loved ones and we can see them again on a paradise earth! I hope this promise brings you comfort as it does me.
