Mrs. Lola Mae Peterson (Mother Peterson) age 79, a resident of Montgomery, Alabama passed away Tuesday, May 29, 2018 peacefully at her residence surrounded by family and friends.  Funeral service will be held Saturday, June 9, 2018 at 12pm from Faith Full Gospel Baptist Church, 1931 Highland Montgomery, Alabama with Bishop Freddick A. Hardy, Pastor and Apostle M. Linda Brown, Pastor of EPHOD Worship Center Montgomery, AL. Burial to follow at Forest Hills Memorial Park, 9504 US Highway 331 Montgomery, Alabama


  Lola Mae Peterson l  LIFE STORY

Lola Mae Stokes Peterson was born on September 27th, 1938 to the late Willie and Louise Stokes in Montgomery, Alabama.  She attended the public school system and accepted Christ at an early age.  She was baptized and served faithfully at Ebenezer A. M. E. Zion Church of Montgomery, Alabama.  She later joined The Evangelistic Pentecostal House of Deliverance (EPHOD) under the late Elder Georgia M. Garner in 1977.  She then went on to serve as the Sunday School Teacher, Usher Board President, Secretary and Trustee Board Leader and was later ordained as the Assistant Pastor, Elder Mother Lola Peterson, in the early 90's under Bishop M. Linda Brown.

Mother Peterson started her career at Maxwell Airforce Base in Montgomery, AL and later was employed at Kimball Furniture Company for 22 years as a Victorian Furniture designer.  " Mother " lived as a faithful member of the Mothers Board and The EPC Singers.  She was known as a " Woman of Faith" and honored in all communities with her activism by feeding the hungry, housing the homeless and praying for the sick.  A well-known chef in her own right; known as having the best dressing in town and the most famous Lola's Lemonade.

On Tuesday morning, May 29, 2018 at 6:50 A.M. our loving and devoted mother was called to rest from her labor of love.  Mother Peterson was proceeded in death by her late father and mother Willie and Louise (Lowe) Stokes.  She leaves to join her 12 siblings, Mary Stokes Williams, Samuel Stokes, Emma Lou (Stokes) Thompson, Jake Stokes, Henry Stokes, Elsie Stokes, Louise (Stokes) Stone, Missouri Sue (Stokes) Bailey, Nathaniel Stokes, Andrew Stokes, Martha Stokes and Edmond Stokes.

She was Preceded in death by her daughter Pandora Stokes and eldest son John William Curtis.  She leaves to honor her legacy and to cherish her memory, one son Command Sergeant Major Enest S. Peterson (MK Airbase Romania) and five daughters; Andrea " Tina" Stokes Withers (Montgomery, AL) Cassandra Jean Taylor (Montgomery, AL) Lolita Curtis (Montgomery, AL)  Louise (Abraham) Thomas  (Atlanta, GA), and Earnestine Peterson (Washington, DC) She also leaves twelve Grandchildren, DeAndre Stokes, Tiffany (Andre) Richardson, Elijah (Jennifer) Curtis, Latrecia Curtis, Samuel (Whitney) Taylor, Datrius Curtis, Marvin Smith, Christopher Brown, Danielle Smith, Eric Peterson, Arkael Peterson and Ethan Peterson; and three Godchildren Gailrenette Pickett, Jasmine finson and Michael Johnson all of Montgomery, AL.

She has special devoted love for her best friend Louise Moss Davis and her beloved Pastor, Apostle M. Linda Brown.  She also leaves to cherish her memories a host of Great Grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends within the communities and and surrounding areas.
