Margia Lee Motley Davis  was born on August 15, 1962 in Prattville, Alabama to the late Gladys J. Motley  and Algia Motley, Sr. / Edward C. DeRamus.  She departed this life on Friday, July 6, 2018 at Baptist Health Hospital in Prattville, AL.  Margia accepted Christ at an early age and joined Friendship Missionary Baptist church where she started her singing career.  Later in life she joined Peace Missionary Baptist Church where she continued to spread love through song.  She then returned back to Friendship Missionary Baptist Church where she remained faithful until her health began to fail.

Margia had a passion for singing.  From the age of thirteen and into adulthood she touched many lives with her angelic voice.  She graduated from Autaugaville High school in 1979 and was a member of the Marching Band.  She also loved to play softball; one of the best short-stoppers around.

Margia was a stay-at-home mom for years and was always surrounded by children because of her love for them.  She attended John Patterson Technical College, where she obatained a degree in Cosmetology and began styling hair at home.  She later began her career at Alabama State University in the Office of Financial Aid.  She worked for fourteen years and medically retired on October 1, 2011, after being diagnosed with a terminal illness (early on-set dementia of the Alzheimer type).

Margia was preceded in death by her parents, Gladys J. Motley and Algia Motley, Sr., father, Edward C. DeRamus, grandson, Mantel Trevon Davis; brother, Henry O. Goodson, and nephews; Patrick Motley, Baby Hardy and Joey Acevedo.

She leaves to cherish her many beloved memories, and will be greatly missed by her children from her former spouse, Mitchel Earl Davis: Kanecia Davis of Prattville, AL, Earl Davis (Rosie Harris) Montgomery, AL, DeEldrick (LaDiyah) Davis, Prattville, AL and Misty Davis (Lamar Oates) Prattville, AL; Sisters: Ethel Louise Hardy, Debrah Goodson, Helen Pettus Tyus and Alma (Nathaniel) Brown, all of Prattville, AL; Brothers: Algia (Nancy) Motley, Jr., Wake Forest , NC, Clemon (Diana) Motley, Prattville, AL, Preston (Bettye) Motley, Prattville, AL and Jeffrey (Ava) Motley, Marietta , GA; Grandchildren: Keon, Arianna, Demontre, Kevee, DaZiyah, Earliyah, Ethan, Dorrien, and Earl Jr.; Step-mom, Bettye DeRamus, Auroura, IL; Sister: Laurin Osman (Kevin) Memphis, TN; Uncle Harvey (Prevella) Mottley, Prattville, AL and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and caring friends.
