Mrs. Bessie Lee McKee, "Bet"  age 70, a resident of Prattville, Alabama passed away Saturday, August 25, 2018 at Baptist Medical Center South.  Funeral Service will be held Saturday, September 1, 2018 at 11am from Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church, 501 Doster  Road Prattville, Alabama with  Rev. Robert King, Pastor and Rev. Rodney Mitchell, Pastor of Water Oak Grove Baptist Church officiating. Burial to follow at Water Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, 959 Highway 82 Bypass West Prattville, Alabama.


Mrs. Bessie Lee McKee (Bet) the daughter of the late Clara (Johnson) Tyus and Bedney Johnson.  Bessie was born May 22, 1948 in Autauga County.  She Quietly departed from her earthly life on the morning of Saturday August 25, 2018.  

At an early age she professed her life to Christ, and joined Water Oak Grove Baptist Church, where she was a dedicated and supportive member.  At Water Oak Grove, she served faithfully as a member of the Trustee Board, Usher Board, and Hospitality Committee.

She was united in holy matrimony to Bill McKee on September 19, 2009.  Her Christian life was beautiful and her influence will forever remain in the lives of all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her brother Bedney Johnson, Jr.  Bessie's    beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her children Tony (Mae) Rogers of Prattville, AL, Avery (John) Wilson Lake Tahoe Nevada, Jamie Marshall Prattville, AL and Antonio Betps (step son); seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three sisters Diana Tyus, Fannie (Willie) Jackson, and Julia Tyus of Prattville;  four sister-in-law Queen (Ben) Jeffery Wetumpka, AL, Jessie Phelps, Linda (Albert) Zeigler, and Catherine McKee all of Coosada, AL.  Three brother-in-law; Clinton (Betty) McKee Coosada, AL, Nelson McKee Detroit, MI, and Gregory (Evelyn) McKee, Elmore, AL, and a host of devoted nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
