Barbara Ann Smith was born October 10, 1956 in Selma, AL at Good Samaritan Hospital to the late late Mr. Isaac & Lula Owens.
Barbara Smith accepted Christ at an early age and joined the Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church. She attended the Autauga County Training School. She later met the love of her life, the late Elder Willie Smith and to this union of 42 years, they had (3) children: Temarcus Smith, Vernica L. Smith, Tawan Smith; A special son/nephew, Darell (Tamelia) smith, and a special daughter/ niece, Tiffany Smith; a special bonus son Andre Howard; (8) grandchildren: Travis Smith, Travon Smith, Tyler Smith, Jasmine Williams, Shyler Smith & Monicka Smith. She later joined the father Son and Holy Ghost Church where she was a faithful member. Many years later, she joined New Peace & Goodwill where she served faithfully as a minister. In 2009, God gave her late husband, Elder Willie Smith, a vision to start a ministry named Reach Out and Touch Holiness Ministry where he served as pastor until his death in January 2020. After his death, she gained the title of Pastor Barbara Ann Smith, where she served as a devoted & faithful pastor until death. She passed away surrounded by family on Friday, August 28, 2020. She leaves (3) sisters: Mary Helen (the late Leo) Burns, Jeanetta (Larry) Carroll, and Jessie Lee; (5) brothers: Norman (Dorothy) Golson, Isaac (Wanda) Owens, the Bryant Owens, Gregory (Tedra) Owens, and Jeffery Lamar; Godmother's: Annie Bell Tyus, Geraldine Howard and Doris Motley; a devoted best friend: Bettie Ashley; a devoted armor bearer: Angelia Palmer; a devoted niece: Schandra Carroll James, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
