Mrs. Bertha Nell Winters Durden was born July 9, 1936 to the late Rufus Winters and Fannie Jackson. She confessed Christ and joined Water Oak Grove Baptist Church, Prattville, Alabama.
Bertha Nell was married to the late John L. Durden. She was preceded in death by her mother and father; her daughter: Margie Winters; her husband; four sisters; and five brothers.
She leaves to cherish her memories her daughter: Vernessa Pierce; stepdaughter: Zongalyn (Hubert) McCloud; stepson: LyDerick Durden; granddaughters: Latasha Thomas and Kenitha (Andre) Gipson-Lee; great grandchildren: Nicholas Thomas, Rhyan Thomas, Kenadie Gipson-Lee, Kendra Gipson-Lee, and Alyssa Gipson-Lee; a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
