Obituary

Bessie Mae Tolver was born on March 9th, 1941 to the late Jessie Taylor and Mary Francis (Steele) Taylor, She departed this life on July 5th, 2023. Bessie accepted Christ as her personal Lord and Savior at an early age and was a lifelong member of the Little Elam Baptist Church.

 She served faithfully as the Sunday school Secretary and as the head of the Hospitality ministry.

Bessie was married to D.C. ToIver for over 65 glorious years. She was a devoted wife and mother who traveled the world extensively in support of her three children who honorably served in the military. Bessie was a renowned member of the community. She provided meals for children at the church and to those who were ill. She supported bereaved families and had a genuine desire to give to those in need within and around her community. She enjoyed nurturing her flowers, cooking food for the soul, and creating lifelong memories within the 4 generations the Lord charged her with.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Jessie and Mary Francis Taylor, brothers: Willie T. 'Taylor, James Taylor, and Robert Taylor, sisters: Bertha Whetstone and Pearlie Mae Taylor, and daughter Vivian L. Tankard.

She leaves to cherish her sweet memories: husband D.C. Tolver of Autaugaville, AL., children: Irma Price (Arrick) of Killeen, TX., and David Tolver (Monica) Of Autaugaville, AL., grandchildren: Andrew Tankard

 (Jacqueline) Of Savannah, GA., Antwyn (Dayoung) Tankard Of Las Cruces, NM., Arricka Price of Belton, TX., Arrick Price Jr. (Tomika) of Copperas Cove, TX., Darius (Raquel) Tolver of Dover, FL., and Davion (Courtney) Tolver of Douglasville, GA., brothers: Jessie (Vanessa) Taylor Jr., Autaugaville, AL., Anderson Taylor, Selma, AL., Alfred (Sharon) Taylor, Germany, Sylvester (Sarah) Taylor; Augusta, GA; sistervFannie Caver, Brooklyn, NY., Betty Lee Cyrus, Autaugaville, AL., Mary Elizabeth (L.C.) Howard, Autaugaville, AL. and Shirley Provitt, Gadsen, AL., and a host of nieces, nephews, great-grandchildren, and other relatives and friends.
