Bobby James DeRamus

Bobby James DeRamus, transitioned from this life Monday, July 26, 2021, at Baptist South in Montgomery, Alabama.

 Bobby was born March 6, 1958, to the late Ethel Roberta DeRamus in Prattville, Alabama.

He attended school in Autauga County. Bobby was a Jack of all trades. He was very gifted with his hands. He worked for numerous companies over the span of his career. Bobby traveled the Country with one of the premier construction companies in the U.S, Brown & Root. He also worked alongside his brothers in a family-owned Business, DeRamus Roofing, as well as being a mechanic to the community.

Bobby (Bobcat) became a father at an early age and his beautiful daughter Lawanda Jemison was born to Fannie Jemison. He later married Patsy Wyatt and to this union one son was born, Bobby James DeRamus, Jr.

After a series of health issues, Bobby became a homebody spending his days enjoying westerns on TV. On May 10, 2021, he entered Baptist Hospital in Prattville, AL. He was transferred to Baptist South where he remained until the time of his death. He was preceded in death by his sisters Priscilla DeRamus and Michelle Robinson, and a devoted aunt Ida Bell Harrison.

Bobby will be forever remembered by his daughter LaWanda Jemison-Bailey (Donnee) Charlotte, North Carolina; son Bobby James DeRamus Jr., Prattville, AL.; five grandchildren: Rozmera Sharpe, Mekhi Sharpe, Charlotte, North Carolina; Zxion DeRamus, Wetumpka, AL; Skylar Carroll, Prattville, AL; and Auni DeRamus, Prattville, AL. Three sisters; Lucille (James) DeBardelaben; Myra Holyfield; Rosemary (Henry) Bowman, all of Prattville, AL. Three brothers: Andrew (Brenda) DeRamus, Prattville, AL; Billy DeRamus, California; Dwight (Sonya) DeRamus, Montgomery, AL. One aunt Mrs. Bettye DeRamus, Montgomery, IL and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
