Brady Bowman, Sr Obituary

Another soldier gone to get a great reward; He fought the fight, he kept the faith, and now he has gone home to God. His soul has gone to God who giveth; the earth will claim its own, his body; but he is shouting around the throne while we are left to mourn. But some day we will meet again, all our loved ones who have gone before; some day we will reach that happy land, where parting will be no more.

Brody L. Bowman, Sr was born October 29, 1933 to the late Luberta Morris Bowman and Felix Bowman in Prattville, Alabama.

He confessed Christ at an early age at the Autauga Hill AME Zion Church, where he served as a trustee and "Father of the Church" until his health failed. He departed this life on Monday, May 2q, 2023 at 4:07 pm at Hillview Terrace in Montgomery Alabama.

He was united in holy matrimony to Emma Albright Bowman and to this union, eleven children were born.

Brady loved spending "good times" with family and friends. Even during his sickness, he never lost his love for music and laughter. His motto for living which has become his family's motto is: "People are people, and if you be people with people, people will be people with you."

Brady worked hard his entire life until dementia robbed him of that ability. But not before teaching and instilling that same work ethic to his children, grandchildren and many others along the way.

Brady Bowman was a member of Prattville City Lodge *163, Supreme Grand Lodge Modern Free and Accepted Masons of the World, Inc. Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite Freemasonry. He started his own business at a young age. Brady employed and taught many young people to operate backhoes and tractors. He also taught them how to build and install septic tanks, field lines, grease interceptors, and etc. He accomplished all of this with only an elementary education.

His family benefitted from his work skills, and he taught them many things. The most important thing he instilled in them was to put God first. If you didn't attend church on Sunday, you weren't allowed to attend any other functions throughout the week, until the next Sunday.

Brody was preceded in death by his five sisters, Lula Bowman, Eula C Arbee, Fannie Mae Mitchell, Pauline Zeigler Johnson, and Laura Nell Carter; one brother, Johnnie Morris Bowman; two sons, Jackie Lewis Hinkle and Jerry Rogers; one grandson Edwin C. Wells, Jr., and one great-grandson.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife of 66 years, Emma Albright Bowman, eleven children, Belinda (Frederick) Edwards, Henry (Rosemary) Bowman, Ray (Bernadette) bowman, Angela Bowman Wells, Sheila (Ronald) Lawhorn, Denise (David) Kimbrough, Ramsey (Trina) Bowman, Brady Bowman, Jr., Gregory (Kimberly) Bowman, Shnequie (Orwando) Bowman-Greene, and Cedric Bowman; Two brothers-in-law, Harrison (Bel-lye) Davis, Jr. and John (Deloise) Albright; one sister-in-law, Ella Queen Johnson, thirty-three grandchildren, forty great-grandchildren and a multitude of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
