Clarence Washington, Sr. entered his earthly home on February 12, 1945 surrounded by a loving family. As God would have it, on December 11,2021, he entered his heavenly home.
He is proceeded in death by his loving wife, Ida Mae Washington, son Darrell Thomas, Mother Lena Mae Washington-Nickens, Father Willie Joe Cook; sisters Mary Alice Billingsley, Zollie Nickens; brothers Alphonzo Nickens, James Edward Washington, Walter Nickens, Sr., Dennis Nickens, Micheal Nickens, Henry Bell Robinson, and a special aunt Mattie Evans.
Clarence was baptized at Mt. Pleasant AME Zion Church where he confessed Jesus Christ as his personal Savior. He later joined All Nation Pentecostal Church of God under the leadership Of Bishop William A. and Mary F, Tumlin. After many years he joined the New Vision Worship Center under the leadership of his brother-in-love, the late Bishop Raymond L. Thomas. He later joined Brewer Heights Baptist Church under the. leadership of Bishop Kevin D. Jenkins, Sr. and Pastor Faye Shaw Jenkins until his health began to fail him.
Clarence began working at an early age with some of the top drywall companies as a drywall hanger. He touched the lives of many people with -his generous spirit and pleasant personality. He was loved by many. His influence will forever remain in the lives of all who knew him.
His beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of his family. Those left to celebrate his life are daughters Kristy (Ricky) Haigler, Tangie (Felton) Woods, LaTonya (Darrell) Walker; sons Ronnie Thomas, Stephen (Toni) Thomas, Reginald Washington, Clarence Washington, Jr. and Patrick Washington; three grandkids he raised as his own, Vilinda (Bass) Tyson, Monique Barnes and Clarence Barnes; sisters Dorothy Henson, Lena Mae Jones, Sharon Washington; brother Willie (Paula) Washington; sisters-in-love Catherine Nickens, Denise Nickens, Lola Nickens, Pastor Roberta Minor, Shirley (Stashia) McGhee and Vickie (Clyde) Howard.
He Also leaves to cherish his memories to his brothers-in-love Anderson Thomas, Jr., Horace Thomas, Alphonzo (Erica)Thomas, David (Kay) Thomas, Jessie Fair, and a niece he raised as his own, Sharon Jones and a host of Grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
