Curtis DeRamus Jr., 86, of Prattville, Alabama, peacefully passed away surrounded by the love of his family. Curtis was born on July 16, 1939, in Billingsley, Alabama, to Joe C. and Cora L. DeRamus. He later moved to Panama City, Florida, where he graduated from Rosenwald High School.
After graduation, Curtis relocated to Elyria, Ohio, where he began a long and dedicated career with Elyria Foundry Company. Through hard work, loyalty, and leadership, he faithfully served as a supervisor for 41 years. Curtis was a proud Mason and a man who valued family, friendship, and hard work. He carried himself with quiet strength, dignity, and kindness, leaving a lasting impression on everyone.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe C. and CoraL.
DeRamus; his first wife Bettye DeRamus and wife, Jeanetta DeRamus; and sister, Martha Bush.
Curtis Leaves to cherish his memory his children: Cynthia Stinnett of Panama City, FL; Shawnda DeRamus of Cincinnati, OH; Kimberly Cortes of Chula Vista, CA; Stephanie DeRamus of Elyria, OH; Zachary Robinson (Jayla) of Toledo, OH; and Devontae Evans of North Carolina.
He is also survived by his siblings: Bettye Ward of Panama City, FL; Carrie Campbell of Lorain, OH; Daniel (Renee') DeRamus Sr. of Prattville, AL; and Janette Stoudemire of Prattville, AL.
Curtis will also be deeply missed by a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and many loving friends.
