Cynthia Smith Obituary

Our God creates all living things and on November 2, 1962, he chose to create Cynthia “Lil Mama” Elaine Smith in his perfect image.  Her earthly mother was Thelma Mary Smith. On July 1, 2020 God dispatched his Heavenly Angels to capture the soul of Cynthia and bring her home to live eternally.

Cynthia gave her life to Christ at an early age and joined the Bethlehem C.M.E. Church, Prattville, Alabama where she served diligently as Church Secretary, Choir Member, Usher, Spiritual Advisor and any other thing that God put on her heart to do for Bethlehem.  Cynthia truly loved working with the children in the church she organized plays, parades, and all events needed.

She was educated in the Autauga County School Systems where she graduated from Prattville High School, Prattville, Alabama in 1981.  Her higher education was obtained from Southern Technical College, Montgomery, Alabama where she received an Associate Degree for Business Technology in 1989.  Cynthia was employed with the State of Alabama where she held various positions for over 22 years.  She was loved by all her co-workers because of her kind spirit.

She leaves to cherish her memories: her mother Thelma Mary Smith; a loving and devoted companion of over 20 years Mr. Chester Duncan; one son Michael (Marlisha) Kendell Smith; two daughters:  La`Kisha Shonta Smith and La`Constance (Willie) Shanea Calhoun; six grandchildren; Aliciona Smith, Brandon Moseley, DaShawn Moseley, Jayla Williams, Na`Kyjah Moore, Ja`Niyah Moore; one great grandson Kayson Smith; four sisters: Brenda (Carl) Smith Pickett, Anita (Herman) Smith, Sandi Smith Davis, and Malisa (Coleman) Smith McKeithen; two brothers: Mack Alvin Smith and Tony (Terri) Pernell Smith.  Four devoted and loving uncles Morris Smith, Marvin Smith, Wilbur Smith, and Ricky Jackson; three special and loving nephews: Nicholas Smith, Kerry Smith, and Travis Rogers.  A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and church members.
