Diane Poe

Diane Poe was born on August 10, 1963, in Chicago, Illinois to the late Joseph Robert Jenkins and Clara Poe Jenkins.  She confessed Christ at an early age and later became a member of Greater St. Joseph AME Church in Autaugaville, AL.

Diane received her formal education from the Chicago Public School System in addition to Autauga County Public System.  She had various occupations while living in Alabama and Chicago, IL.

Diane touched the lives of her children, grandchildren, siblings and others.  She handled those she loved with kindness and patience.  Although she was fighting a battle of her own, she would always greet you with, "Hey Honey" each time she saw you.  Though she often suffered in silence, if you were to ask her how she was doing, she would often say, 'I'm fine instead of complaining.

On August 21, 2025, Diane left this earthly realm to enter her eternal home.  According to 2 Corinthians 5:6, "We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord"

She is preceded in death by her Parents: Joseph Jenkins and Clara Poe Jenkins; Uncle and Aunt: Fayette and Hattie Howard: Son-in-law Orlando Wise.  Diane's life and memories will forever be cherished by her beloved and adoring children: Juan Poe, Deidre Poe Wise, Shaneikia (Andrew) Knight and Christopher Poe, Sr.  Siblings: Richard (Ann) Poe, Janice (David) Harris, Joann Motley, Vanessa (Gregory) Brunson, Nedra Poe, and Sandra Long, Joseph (Patricia) Howard ; grandchildren: Christopher Poe, Jr., DeAnthony Wise, Deandrea Wise, Nataila Knight, Dalvertise Knight, and Ashton Pettaway; great-grandchild; Ethan Wise; and a devoted cousin: Deborah Howard.  There is also a host of loving relatives and friends who are too numerous to name.
