Donnell Kirksey

Donnell Kirksey was born October 1, 1952 to the late Walker Lee Kirksey, Sr. and Mary Frances Kirksey.

Donnell will join in Heaven his mother and father; grandson: Jaylen Lamar; Hattie Ledbetter, George Ledbetter, Bobby Kirksey, Virginia Kirksey, Samuel Marshall, and Walker Lee Kirksey.

He was employed at Gurneys Industries for over twenty years until it closed in October 1982. After Gurney closed he decided to take a chance on himself and built his garage so he could do what he loved- fixing vehicles. Donnell loved cars, he would travel near and far to fix cars for others until his health declined. He was a dearly loved husband, uncle, father, grandfather, brother, and friend to all and he will be missed by everyone who knew him. Donnell always greeted you with a smile willing and ready to assist you in any capacity that he could.

Donnell had a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and we know today that he looks down on us from Heaven.

He leaves to cherish his memory to: is wife Jeanette Kirksey of Prattville, Alabama; three sons: Danyell (Tasha) Lamar of Montgomery, Alabama; Alabama; KC (Latonya) Lamar of Montgomery, Alabama; Renard Richard of Prattville, Alabama; two daughters: LaQuania Lamar of Cincinnati, Ohio, Monique (Larry) Williams of Montgomery, Alabama; five stepchildren: LaKeisha Smith of Prattville, Alabama, Tyeshia Anderson of Montgomery, Alabama, Precious Anderson of Montgomery, Alabama, Michael (Marlisha) Smith of Prattville, Alabama, and Brian Anderson of Montgomery, Alabama; 25 grandchildren whom he loved and cherished dearly; four brothers: Darrell (Lizer) Kirksey of Prattville, Alabama, Carl (Patricia) Kirksey of Headland, Alabama, Vernon Kirksey of Wetumpka, Alabama, Steven “ Chris” Kirksey of Prattville, Alabama; four sisters: Rosetta Austin of Prattville, Alabama, Dorothy (Timothy) Lemons of Huntsville, Alabama, Evelyn Alvies of Prattville, Alabama and Loretta (Jerry) Jackson of Wetumpka, Alabama; a host of devoted  nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
