Doris Jean Goodson Gardner was the Fourth of Seven child born to the late Elisha Goodson Sr. and Georgia Mae Houser Goodson in Autauga County, Alabama. She is preceded in death by her brothers Tommie Goodson, Elisha Goodson Jr. and step-son Cornell Franks. She joined Mt. Zion AME Church an early age and later joined Father and Son Holy Ghost until her health began to fail. She attended several schools: Locust Bluff, North Highland, and Autauga County High. She was employed by Prattville Apparel Company, She open her own cleaning service, Cathy and Doris. Autauga County School System and the Elmore County School System. She loved to spread the word of God. She loved serving food for the church. She also loved sewing for people. She loved spending time with her grandkids and great grandkids.
She leaves to cherish her memories; Beloved Husband Jimmy Gardner; Two daughters Vanessa Gardner, Prattville AL; Erica Palmore (Cleve) Montgomery AL. Grand children: Jeremiah Gardner Sr (Crystal), Jessica Gardner, Brianna Gardner Palmore, Shameria Gardner, and Cleve J. Palmore. Great-Grandchildren Crystiana Gardner, Jor'don Palmore, Jeremiah Gardner Jr. and Mason Gardner; step grandchildren Shaniquel Johnson, Shameria Johnson, Corneshia Johnson Four sister Mary Bristow, Montgomery AL; Daisy Bates (Anthony); Dianne Seabon and Mildred Butler. all of Prattville AL. One half sister Helen Coleman (Eddie) Montgomery AL; One brother-in-law Clayton Gardner (Lee) Prattville AL: Eight Sister-in-laws: Addie Brown (Lucious) Henderson, NV; Mary Holifield (Eugene) Montgomery AL, Lois Gibbons (Willie); Oretta Rice, Dorothy Kirksey-Lemons, Evelyn Kirksey-Alvies, Mildred Goodson and Versie Goodson all of Prattville AL; One Uncle William Houser (Agnita) of Cleveland OH and One Aunt Rosa Coleman (Alfred) of Tyrone, GA. A host of nieces and nephews, a devoted sister Mary Driscow and other relatives and friends.
