Dorothy Mae "Dot" Goodson was born the 1st child of Annie Bell Goodson Hardy on January 31, 1942. She received Christ at an early age. She was preceded in death by her mother, several siblings and daughter, Bridgette La'Jean Alexander.
After graduating from Autauga County Training School, Dorothy moved to Brooklyn, NY. She lived in New York for many years. Later in life she moved to Savannah, GA. While in Georgia, she joined the Mustard Seed Faith center where she was an active member until her health failed.
Dorothy also loved working with children. She worked as an Adoption Consultant for the State of Georgia, Chatham County Department of Family and Children Services. She retired in 2004 with 13 1/2 years of service.
Dorothy leaves to cherish her memories, one son, Dana Layne Goodson and one daughter, Denita E. Alexander-Hamm, both of Savannah, GA. Two brothers, James Goodson of Montgomery, AL and Sammie Hardy (Rose Marie) of Stone Mountain, GA. One sister, Leslie Hardy of Columbia, PA. Three granddaughters, Ladana Goodson, Jessica Goodson, both of Memphis, TN, and Quashemia S. Alexander of Los Angeles, CA. One great-granddaughter, Ashira R. Zerbib and one great-grandson, Yeshaia Alexander, both of Los Angeles, CA. A special daughter-in-law, Joyce of Memphis, TN; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
