Early Dean (Broadnax) Chappell was born September 22, 1942, to the late James Broadnax and Ida Dobine Broadnax in Mulberry, Alabama. She was the youngest of ten from this union. As a child, she was a very active member of Greater Mallard Chapel AME Church. She later moved her membership to Beulah Missionary Baptist Church in Montgomery, AL.
She worked as a seamstress for Russell Mill Cooperation for over 27 years and retired in 1995. Retirement opened a new season of joy—she was able to travel and spend cherished time visiting her grandchildren, creating memories that became some of her most treasured moments.
She was blessed with five children, each of whom brought joy and purpose to her life. She was known for her straightforward personality. Her love was shown by her being very direct. She was a lover of football, music, and cherished every moment with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They were the light in her life. Another of her greatest loves was Billy K Robinson who preceded her in death.
She was preceded in death by her beloved siblings: Sarah Jane Davis, Claudia Broadnax, Arthur James (Toe) Broadnax, Henry (Monk) Broadnax, Pearlie Mae Dumas, Tom Philip Broadnax, Loretta Broadnax, Charles Broadnax.
She leaves behind to embrace her memories are her children Willis Chappell Jr (Antoinette), Youlanda Gale Thomas (Jerry), Deloris Chappell, Christopher Chappell, and Juakecia Robinson. Her grandchildren are Alexander Gambrell (Jubie), Jerry Thomas Jr. (Caitlin), Jordan Thomas, and Renay Taylor. Her great grandchildren are Adriana, Rihanna, Kert, and Alex Jr. She also leaves behind her brother Alfred Broadnax, Sr and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
