Elizabeth Bishop Davis was born August 25, 1926 to the late Roosevelt and Edith Bishop in Autaugaville (Mulberry), Alabama.
She confessed Christ at an early age and joined First Baptist Church in Autaugaville, AL; where she was a faithful member and she served as a Deaconess and on the Senior Usher Board for numerous years.
Madea as she was affectionately called; was educated in the Autaugaville County Training School; and later worked at the elementary and high schools in the lunchroom for numerous years serving many children; she was a very loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend that didn't mind helping anyone out.
She met and later married the love of her life the late Felton M. Davis Sr. and to their blended union fifteen children were born.
She was preceded in death by her loving parents, a devoted husband, Felton M. Davis Sr.; four children, Robert Earl Davis, Ruby Lavon Moten, Felton M. Davis, Jr. and Monteen (Anderson) Stoudemire; one sister, Diana McCaskill; two brothers, Johnny and Benjamin Bishop; and one son-in law, Willie Willis Sr.
Madea legacy will forever be cherished by: eleven children, Deloris Davis, Shirley Willis, Edith Davis-Clemons, Juliette (Gill) Smith (a very devoted caregiver), Cedric (Portia) Golson, Hattie (Gilbert) Wilson, Margaret (Jeffery) Seabon, William Floyd (Vivian) Davis, Jacquelyn (Fred) Keith, Allen (Stephanie) Davis and Vincent Scott (Linda) Davis, all of Autaugaville AL; one daughter-in-law, Elizabeth L. Davis, of Autaugaville, AL; a very special niece, Inger McCaskill, of New York; a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren nearly over one hundred; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
