Eloise Taylor was born in Prattville, Alabama on August 3, 1946 to the late Henry Taylor and Easter Miles. She was the 3rd oldest of seven children. Eloise was educated in the Prattville Public School system; thereafter she began her personal journey. In 1967, she said her goodbyes. Eloise would pack her belongings and children and head north, relocating to Detroit, Michigan.
Eloise found her passion in the medical field working as a Nursing Assistant. She loved helping others. She began working at the Detroit Memorial Hospital. She later bought her first home. Eloise didn't stop there, always looking for better employment opportunities, she landed a job at Holy Cross Hospital. There she invested over twenty years. She found the perfect home near her job, that began a lifetime of memories. Eloise returned to school to get her G.E.D., which was one of her proudest accomplishments.
The closing of Holy Cross Hospital forced her to seek another employer. Her search landed her a job at Providence Hospital in Southfield, Michigan, where she works until retirement. Eloise would share stories about her patients in such a humorous way. She always made you laugh.
Eloise affectionately known as Ella, could light up a room with that infectious smile. She loved her family unconditionally. She loved traveling, and she loved hosting holidays, family gatherings, barbeques, birthday celebrations and card games; poker was her game. Ella could play all night bluffing and being bluffed. She loved raking it in.
She took every opportunity she could to travel, rain, shine, sleet or snow. There was nothing like going home to Prattville. "I'm going home", she would always say. There she would spend time with her mother Easter and Sister Cool (Lovester). She was popular, either they were looking for her, or she was looking for them the minute herfeet hit the soil. She loved having a good time.
Ella, had a heart for all people. She never meet a stranger. She had an open door policy. If you needed a place to stay, the door was open. If you needed something to eat, the door was open. If you needed a loan or whatever the need, the door was open. You never knew who would answer the door. Just know somebody knew the door was always open. Ella knew all her neighbors young and old. After retirement she would sit on the porch greeting everyone by name. Most would stop and chat a while.
Ella departed this life on August 22, 2024. Ella would be missed by family and friends alike. Her daughter Belinda Taylor, parents, Henry Taylor and Easter Miles, three brothers, Henry Taylor, Harold Taylor and Jake Miles; sister-in-law Beverly Taylor and niece Vicki Miles preceded her in death.
