Gene confessed Christ at an early age and joined Brien Chapel AME Church in Jones, Alabama. His caring spirit and generous heart could be felt by anyone he came in contact with. Eugene returned to his heavenly father unexpectedly on March 13, 2022, at Baptist Medical Center South in Montgomery, Alabama.
Eugene was preceded in death by both parents, Elizabeth Hill and Lofton Cook; one brother, Rodney Hill Sr.; and grandparents, Alfred and Ethel Hill.
He leaves to cherish loving memories: his companion, Patricia Mosley of Jones, Alabama; two sisters, Lucretia (Frank) Hill- Smith of Burnsville, Alabama and Kellie (Lorenzo) McGee-Hunter of Selma, Alabama; two brothers, Kenneth (Lolita) Cook of Greensboro, North Carolina and Reverend Ronnie (Marilyn) Cook of Valley Grande, Alabama. He was a wonderful father figure and had great love for Rashawn Mosely and Tashondra Montgomery of Jones, Alabama; he was an outstanding grandfather figure to Cayden and Caleb Montgomery of Jones, Alabama; four uncles, seven aunts; a special cousin, Clarence Mixon Jr.; a special friend, Anita Kent; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
