On May 29, 1957, Eula Letta “Lette” Motley Tillery was born to the late Robert Motley, Sr. and the late Ruth Moten Motley. She attended Autaugaville High School and graduated in 1975. After obtaining an associate degree from Birmingham Southern, she worked for the federal government for more than 30 years with Social Security Administration. Lette was a member of Friendship Missionary Baptist Church and served faithfully on the Usher Board for over 20 years. In addition to serving on the Usher Board, she was the advisor for the Junior Usher Board, and helped with the youth department in any capacity needed. She transitioned into eternal life on Sunday, March 24, 2024 at her home surrounded by loved ones.
Lette loved spending time with her family and friends. She was a chin up – chest out, no – nonsense person who was dedicated to doing her best and making sure those around her did the same.
Lette was preceded in death by her brothers Robert Motley, Jr. and McArthur Motley, a brother – in – law, Edward Golson, and sister – in – law, Bettye Motley.
Her memories will forever be cherished by her husband, Anthony Tillery; sons, Craig (Leanna Marishia) Tillery and Nicholas (Dominique) Tillery; sister, Jene Golson; brothers, Samuel (Ethel) Motley, Curtis Motley, and Franklin (Patsy) Motley; sister – in – law Linda Motley; brother – in – law, LaMark(Antoinette) Tillery; sister – in – law, RaeLisa (Tracey) Mitchell; aunts, Etta Evans, Rose James, Queenie Sims, & Sharon Tillery; uncle, Jacob Moten; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
