Fannye Rogers Obituary

Fanny Marie, accepted Christ at an early age and joined her family's church (Autauga Hill A.M.E. Zion where she remained a faithful servant until God called his precious angel home to join her mother (Julia Ford) and father (Roosevelt Golson), and siblings (Latricia, Maxi, Ardell, Sally Mac, Rosa Mae, Roosevelt, Annie Rea).

Fannye's departure leaves a profound void in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. She was a woman of unwavering character and integrity, a true "Proverbs 31 Woman." She lived her life with a remarkable dedication to her family and an unyielding commitment to her principles. Her gentle nature, warm smile, and compassionate heart endeared her to everyone she encountered.

Fannye's professional life was marked by diligence and excellence.

Fannye Marie attended North Highland High School in Prattville, Alabama, and then continued to further her education at Trenholm State -Technical College and Wayne County Community College. The concepts of obtaining an education and gainful employment were both important to her, as they were instilled in her by her grandmother and great grandfather. She in turn, instilled them both in all o! her children and grandchildren, rewarding them at every milestone. She was employed by the Autauga County Courthouse, Autauga County School System, and- Baptist Health Center. She approached her work with a sense of purpose and always went the extra mile to ensure the well-being of her colleagues and patients. After 39 years of exceptional service, she retired leaving a lasting legacy on the many lives and careers she touched.

Fannye had a way of making people feel valued and cherished, and her presence brought comfort to those around her. Outside of work, she enjoyed shopping at Dillard’s, decorating for Christmas, beautifying her yard, and hanging out with her grandchildren, which brought her immense joy throughout her life. She found solace in helping others, and her enthusiasm for these pursuits was infectious.

Her sense of humor could light up any room, along with her ability to find joy in the simplest of moments. She will be remembered for her unwavering love for family, her kindness to others, and her zest for life.

 Her memory will forever live on.

Fannye Marie leaves to cherish her wonderful memories six beautiful children; April Jackson, Vanessa (Charles) Eldridge, Carmen (Joseph) Farris, Courtney Rogers, Marie (Cecil) Hyman, and Chandin Rogers. She leaves thirteen doting grandchildren of whom she adorned with nicknames; Shakela (Kela), Aude;auna (Audrey), Gre’syn (Ms. Molly), Chelsea (Chelss), Emeri (Pumpkin Belly), Lauryn (Lee-Lee), Kennedi (Fat Momma), Chasity (Apple Pie), Isabella (Dimples), Kingston (King), Karter (Buster), Courtlen (Brutus), and Courtni.

Three precious great-grandchildren; Massiah (Grandmama Man), Aa'Dynn, and Addisyn (Denise Lasalle).

She is survived by a loving sister, Mrs. Charlie Mae Dunklin, and  her brothers; Roosevelt Ford, Jimmy (Linda) Ford, William (Carolyn) Ford, Edward Ford, Ray Ford; and Aunt Mary Goldsby, and a host of other relatives and dear friends.

Fannye Marie leaves to cherish her memories a few special friends and colleagues: her "First Friend," the late Mrs. Freddie Meyers, "Childhood Best Friend," Mrs. Debra Bowman- Davis, Mrs. Helen Gardner, Ms. Regina Lee, Ms. Beatrice Roberts, and Ms. Patricia Anderson.

Her colleagues, the "Baptist 2 South Crew, "who remained faithful and supportive until the end, Juanita, Geri, Mattie, Edith, Linda, Carol, Dr. Victor Pena, Dr. Cheryl Zimmerman, Dr. Henry Johnson, and Dr. R. McCorvey, and Dr. J. McIntyre.

Fannye’s Marie memory will forever be etched in our hearts, and her legacy love and kindness will continue to inspire us. May She rest in eternal peace.
