Mr. Fletter Stoudemire age 86 a resident of Louisville, Kentucky formerly of Prattville, Alabama passed away Wednesday, May 8, 2019. Funeral service will be held Monday, May 20, 2019 at 12pm from New Jerico Missionary Baptist Church Prattville, Alabama with Rev. Robert Thornton, Pastor and Rev. Jessie Jackson officiating. Burial to follow at New Jerico Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.
Fletter 's Journey
Mr. Fletter Stoudemire, age 86, was a long time resident of Louisville, Kentucky. He passed peacefully at Baptist East Hospital in St. Matthew's, Kentucky on May 8, 2019.
Fletter was born in Autauga County, Alabama to the late Asberry (Berry) Stoudemire and Louvenia Motley Stoudemire on February 15, 1933. His grandparents were the late Jimmie Stoudemire, Mary Woods, Willie Lee Motley, and Ollie Mae Pickett Motley.
Fletter attended New Jericho Baptist Church, the church where his father was one of the founding members. He married Geraldine Williams on July 1, 1951. He moved to Louisville, Kentucky for work. He worked for George M. Eady Construction Company for over 20 years. After retiring, he worked part-time in janitorial services at Dillard's. While in Kentucky, he was actively involved with the Prince Hall Masonic Industrial Lodge 145 in Louisville, Kentucky.
Fletter was preceded in death by his sons Gerald Stoudemire and Anthony Stoudemire; parents Berry and Louvenia Stoudemire; brothers Iris Stoudemire, Dee Stoudemire, LM and Julius Stoudemire; sisters Vessie Hall -Debardelaben, Arzula Morris, Clara Mae Richard, Pleasie Mae Stoudemire, Ollie Mae Jackson-Owens.
His memories will be left to the following: six daughters Carol (Robert) Christian, Katherlyn (Warren) McDaniel, Patricia (Reginald) Sanders, Cheryl (Issac) Boulware, Jacqueline Stoudemire all of Atlanta, GA, and Mary Catherine Ziegler of Birmingham, AL; five sons Fletter Jr. Stoudemire, Jimmie Stoudemire, Alfonso (Valerie) Stoudemire all of Montgomery, AL, Sammie Stoudemire of Prattville, AL and Amos (Kathy) Stoudemire of Lithonia, GA; one sister Lou Ethel Greggs of Decatur, AL; two brothers Clarence Stoudemire of Montgomery, AL and Jessie (Sarah) Stoudemire of Chicago, IL; twenty-six grandchildren, and a host of great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins
