Mrs. Georgia Mae Johnson Fenderson, known as Plute to those who knew her well, was born September 12,1949 to the late George Johnson SR. and Ola Bell Motley Johnson Houser in Autaugaville, AL. She was the third of nine children. She was preceded in death by her daughter.
She was a member of St. Joseph Methodist Church. Georgia loved the Lord and accepted Christ at an early age. She later joined the Father Son and Holy Ghost church where she remained a member for many years.
Georgia attended the Autauga County Training School where she graduated in 1968. She dedicated 20 years of service to Gurney Manufacturing in Autaugaville, Al. Upon graduating she started a career in nursing and caregiving. She went on to dedicate over 35 years of her life to this passion.
She was the loving mother of two children, Derrick (Lectricia) Johnson and Tammie McCall. She fell in love with and married Mr. Tommy Fenderson, with whom she shared wonderful years.
Georgia spent a great part of her life living and working in Massachusetts where she was valiant caregiver to many. She opened her home and continued to provide care for years until she relocated back to Alabama in 2015.
She is preceded in death by her husband, her daughter, and her brothers George Johnson and George Byrd. She leaves to cherish her memory, her son Derrick (Lectricia) Johnson, Four sisters, Lola Bell Rawlinson, Ruth (Charles (deceased) Deramus, Matilda (lee) Howard, Adoris Swain, six brother: Rufus (Maria) Motley, Larry (Theresa) Johnson, Ervin Johnson Joseph (Mae) Johnson, Harvey Houser, Jessie Byrd and one aunt Viola Reeves. Seven grandchildren and a host of great grandchildren. Also a host of other family and friends from Alabama all the way to Massachusetts. She will greatly be missed.
