Henrietta Hicks Dozier was born On September 13, 1945 to the late Henry and Lalar Hicks. She transitioned to her heavenly home on January 4, 2022.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Greta Dozier; two sisters, Betty Jean Blackman, Callie Lucas; three brothers, Tommy Joe Hicks, Clarence Hicks, and Henry Albert Hicks.
On August 3, 1962, Henrietta married her high school sweetheart, Frank Dozier. With the passing of every year, their love never wavered. It was still as strong as the first day they met. To this union, six children were born.
Henrietta graduated from North Highland High School. She worked as a cook at the Holiday Inn. In her spare time, she loved to cook, fish, dance, watch football and baseball. Her favorite teams were the Alabama Crimson Tide and the Atlanta Braves. Her grandchildren and great children stole her heart and she loved spending time with them. She was a faithful member of The Historic Ward Chapel AME Church and attended when her health would allow. She was passionate about attending church and hearing the choirs sing. Henrietta had a quiet spirit and sweet soul. And everyone who knew her, loved her.
Henrietta leaves to cherish her memories, a loving and devoted husband of 59 years, Frank Dozier; two sons Eric (Lola) Dozier, Kenneth (Valerie) Dozier; three loving daughters, Angelia (Rick) Sanders, Melissa Bird, and Venita Rogers; one sister, Bertha Mae Hicks; one brother, John Hicks; thirteen grandchildren and nine great grandchildren, one brother-in-law John (Marian) Dozier; four sisters-in-law, Zefphlyn Dozier, Linda (Bobby) Zeigler, Lolita (Leal) Smith, Dora Hollon; special friends, Lois Sager and Dee Dee Bosworth and a host of other relatives and friends.
