Mr. James Samuel Blue, Sr "Sam" age 53 a resident of Montgomery, Alabama passed away Wednesday, May 29, 2019 at University of Alabama Hospital Birmingham, Alabama. A Memorial Service with Military Honors will be held Saturday, June 8, 2019 at 10am from Ridout's Brown Service Prattville Chapel, 347 East Main Street Prattville, Alabama with Rev. Steven Smith, Pastor officiating.
Obituary
James Samuel Blue Sr. was born December 13, 1965, to the late Otis Blue and Mrs. Essie Mae Blue in Montgomery, AL. He graduated from Prattville High School. Sam enlisted in the United States Navy where he served for 13 years. He had a love for Alabama football (Roll Tide), dominos, grilling, hunting and most of all crappie fishing where he earned the nickname "Bamboo".
Sam leaves to cherish his memories: His wife, Melissa Blue; Mother, Essie Blue; son, James Samuel Blue Jr.; daughter, Gayla Renae Blue of Prattville; granddaughter, Shamya Maleah Blue; siblings Tommy Blue (Evelyn), Peggy Davis (Willie) Tyrone Blue (Madgeline), Mary B. Slayton (Hank), Kitty Houser (Clem), Ted Blue; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Sam knew no strangers. Many peoples just called him "Blue". His 1985 class of the Prattville Lions continue to keep in touch and care for each other include his "bestie" Bonita Andrews and Sam Goodson.
