Mr. Jimmie Fails was born to the late Charlie and Easter Fails on June 14, 1944, in Pleasant Hill, Alabama.
He accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior and joined Good Hope Baptist Church, Pleasant Hill, AL. He later joined Greater New Hope Baptist Church in Selma, Alabama; until he was unable to attend due to his health.
He met and married the former Beulah Palmer for twenty-nine years and to this union four children were born. He had a love for singing that brought joy to his heart while lifting up the name of Jesus through song. He song with various gospel groups over his lifetime: The Pilgrim Travelers, Joe Wesley & The Gospel Aires, The Tyler Male Chorus, Providence Male Chorus and various church choirs.
He was preceded in death by his loving parents, two sisters, five brothers and one grandson, Jace Robert Smith.
