Joe Louis DeBardelaben, Jr. (June Baby) was born on November 4, 1956, to Emma and Joe Louis DeBardelaben, Sr. in Prattville, AL. He joined the Bethesda Missionary Church at an early age.
Joe attended Autauga County Training School until it closed and graduated from Autaugaville High School in May 1975. He graduated from John Patterson Technical School in 1977 with a degree in Auto-Mechanics. He joined the United States Air Force on August 13,1980, and retired on August 31, 2000 after 20 years of service. He then worked at Maxwell Air Force Base and the Veterans Administration (VA) and retired in 2020.
Joe married his friend and love of his life, Catalina Tomoshige, on February 8, 2017. No children were born to this union. He leaves to cherish his memories a devoted wife, Catalina; a son, Jose Clay; parents, Emma and Joe L. DeBardelaben, Sr.; brothers: James (Lucille) DeBardelaben, Gerald DeBardelaben, Prattville, AL, Malcolm (Tasha) Golson, Lavernia, Texas; sisters: Wilma Perry, Vondra Howard, and Kanecia (Willie) Willis of Prattville, AL.
Joe also leaves an honorary brother, Eric (Misty) Caver, Montgomery, AL, a beloved and devoted aunt, Mary Lee Wright, Prattville, AL and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Joe never failed to tell his family and friends that he loved them. He would want them to love and take care of each other, remember the life lessons he taught them and to know that “Love Covers a Multitude of Sin.”
