Laney Cain, Sr. was born on June 12, 1941 to his parents, the late Wilson Cain, Sr. and the late Olive Cain of Montgomery, AL. He passed away on Tuesday, June 02, 2020 at Prattville Baptist Hospital Prattville, AL. He was the baby boy of five siblings. He was preceded in death by his parents and his five siblings. He was was a devoted Christian, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. His wife Verda Lee Cain 'Sweetie", preceded his passing on Thursday, November 14, 2019. Their marriage lasted for 55 years. They are together again!
Laney Cain, Sr. loved his family, church, community, baseball and fishing. he was a Carver High School graduate, Montgomery, AL and a drummer in the marching Wolverine band. He met his wife, Verda, while working a funeral service at First Missionary Baptist Church in Prattville, AL. They married and moved to Chicago, IL and returned years later with his family back to Prattville, AL. He was a faithful member of First Missionary Baptist Church, the Deacon Board and the S.W. Gospel chorus and FMBC Male Choir. He established First Missionary Baptist Church Hospitality Ministry.
Laney Cain , Sr. is cherished by his three loving children: Angela (Mark) Love of Orlando, FL, Pamela Cain and Laney Cain, Jr. both of Prattville, AL; grandchildren: Aaleyah, Angelica, Breyana and Landon; a host of nieces, nephews; in-laws, relatives, friends and neighbors.
