Larry Darnell Carroll

The earth was blessed with the presence of Larry Darnell Carroll on May 21, 1951, in Autaugaville, Alabama to the late Harvest and Eula V. Carroll.

He was proceeded in death by his parents, his late brother, Harvester Carroll, and late sisters Lauretta Tyus, Voncile Underwood, and Mary Jones.

He joined Bethesda Missionary Baptist Church at an early age and remained a dedicated member. He served as the Chairman of the Deacon Board for over 35 years under many great leaders until his death. He served many roles in his church and community. He was a member of the Bethesda Male Chorus, served on the Board of the Carlorene House, and an active member in the Seat of Mercy Ministry. In 1969, he received his high school diploma from Autauga County Training School. In 1973, he graduated from The Alabama State University with a Bachelor of Science in History and

Political Science. He joined the workforce at Bush Hog Continental in Prattville and later moved his career to Union Camp in Prattville for a short span. He decided to advance his career at International Paper in Selma as a Millwright where he worked as a faithful employee until his retirement in 2014. His legacy of love, laughter, and jokes were the epitome of his personality. His humor and unwavering faith will continue to resonate in the hearts of those who were fortunate to know him as "Spoon" or "Don".

In 1971, he was united in holy matrimony to his high school sweetheart, Jeanetta Owens Carroll. Their love and marriage of 52 years united and formed three wonderful children, Gerald Lamont (Shettela) Carroll, Schandra (Myron) James, and Deildrick (Zshakira Teria) Carroll. He leaves his legacy and love to his ten grandchildren: LaKendrick Knight, Lakecia (Early) Rivers, Diamond (Antoine) Calhoun, Elizabeth (Derrick) Smith, Myron (Jadasha) James, Matthew James, Macin James, Deuhn Carroll, Deja Carroll, and Destinee Carroll: Seven great grandchildren, Micah Knight, Karlie Rivers, Avery Calhoun, Ava Calhoun, Ellie

Smith, Malakhai James, Micah James: One brother, Willie Robert (Beverly) Carroll: Six Sisters, Helen Calloway, Odesta Tyus, Annie (Willie) Tyus, Dorethea Howard, Cathy Davis, Wanda (James) Hill: Five Brother-in laws, Rufus Jones, Norman Golson, Isaac (Wanda) Owens, Gregory (Tedra) Owens, Jefferey Lamar: Two Sister-in-law, Mary Burns, Jessie Lee: and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends to cherish his memories.
