Mr. Larry James Lucas, affectionately known as "Bit". was born January 9, 1954, to the late Willie James and Myrtle B. Lucas of Prattville, Alabama. He was reared in the home of his grandparents, Mr. Lee (Coot) and Mrs. Lennie Logan.
He confessed Christ at an early age and was baptized at Mt. Sinai Baptist Church in Prattville, Alabama.
He was educated in the Autauga County Public School System and later joined The U. S. Army. Following his military career, he pursued a profession in driving and drove trucks until he was old enough to secure his "Dream position" driving for Greyhound Bus Line, for over 30 years where he retired. He later drove for Capital Motor Lines, and Highland Express as he had a love and a passion for driving.
He was preceded in death by his parents Willie and Myrtle Lucas, grandparents, Lee, and Lennie Logan. Three Brothers In-Law, Gary Washington, Henry Washington & Curtis J. Washington Sr.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 36 years, Mrs. Marilyn (Candy) Lucas, four daughters Alexia (Richard) Martin of Jemison, Alabama, Cassie Lucas of Millbrook, Alabama, Justine (Kevin) Lucas-Cobb of Montgomery, AL. R.Mashay-Washington Harkins of Tampa, FL. Eight Grandkids, Adrianna Martin, Joshua Martin, Kyan Lewis, Justin Fenderson whom he raised as his own, Jaiden Lewis, Izabella Martin, Kaleb and Kaiden Cobb.
One brother James (Bobbie) Lucas of Spartanburg, SC; three aunts: Estella (William) Johnson, of Seffner, FL, Bessie Nunn, and Jimmie Nunn, both of Birmingham, AL; uncles, Deacon Lewis E. Washington Sr. of Wetumpka, AL and George Earl Washington Sr. of Inkston, Ml; one brother-in-law, Douglas (Mary) Washington; sisters-in-law, Phyllis Washington and Karen Washington; devoted cousins, Michael (Charise) Deramus and Ollie C. Smith, of Prattville, AL; a devoted friend, J. C. Bennett; great appreciation to Steve Hinton, Larry Hadley, Thomas Hardy and the rest of the Greyhound family; and a host of other relatives, friends, Capital Motors Family, Highland Express Family and Dr. William Jones.
