Margaret DeRamus was born February 29, 1920 in Autauga County, Alabama to Charlie Butler, Sr. and Hettie Nunn. She married She married Jeffrey DeRamus. Her long blessed journey ended on February 14, 2021. Margaret would have been 101 years old had she lived a little longer and often talked about early memories leaving the plantation with her family in a wagon pulled by horses.
Mrs. DeRamus was a domestic worker and homemaker. She was a longtime member of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, Chattanooga, Tennessee and sung in the Senior Choir. She lived her final years at Traditions Nursing Home in Lithonia, Georgia. The staff was constantly amazed watching Margaret's exercise routine.
She leaves to cherish her long wonderful life, grandson Vincent DeRamus, (California), sisters in-law, Ardell Butler, (Michigan), Willie Pearl DeRamus, (Tennessee), and Jessie (Edna Pearl) DeRamus, (Michigan). Margaret is also survived by a multitude of loving nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death, her parents, her loving husband, Jeffrey DeRamus, her son, Jesse Lee DeRamus, and all seven of her siblings.
