August 4, 2022, will always be remembered as the day "Heaven got sweeter." God reached down and extended His almighty and powerful hand to call home our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, Margaret "Tootsie" Stoudemire.
Margaret ("Tootsie") Lee-Williams Stoudemire, was born on March 10, 1936, in Prattville, Alabama to the late Marguerite Meredith and Pete Williams, and raised from a young age by her mother and her stepfather, Robert Meredith.
She was united in holy matrimony to the late L.M. Stoudemire. She confessed Christ at an early age and joined Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church, where she was active for many years on the Kitchen Committee. She retired from The Autauga County Board of Education after 30+ years of service.
She had a passion for helping people and loved everyone. Her door was always open to anyone who needed a meal or just a listening ear. She truly showed her love for her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. Family and friends were her pride and joy!
Her talkative personality, upbeat attitude, witty sense of humor, kind heart and warm loving spirit and "throw-down cooking skills" are all but a few of the many attributes that will be sorely missed by all of us.
She had a saying that embodied her faith and trust in God, "When God Got It, Don't Worry About it."
To be without her presence and essence is difficult, but her memories and caring spirit will rest in the hearts of those she cherished the most, seven devoted daughters: ShLinda Stoudemire, (Prattville, AL); Marilyn Provitt-Jones (Montgomery, Al); Shari Stoudemire (Millbrook, AL); Shannon (Moshe') Ninio (Van Nuys, CA); Felicia (Gregory) Foye (Atlanta, GA); Shnique (Albert) Thomas (Prattville, AL); Kristy (Willie) Bell (Huntsville, AL); and one devoted son, Milton Bruce Stoudemire; two step-sons, Larry Mac (Mary Jean) Stoudemire (Prattville, AL); and Tim Stoudemire (Prattville, AL); stepmother, Lucille Wyatt (Prattville, AL); 15 grandchildren children, 16 great-grandchildren, and 8 great-great grandchildren; two sisters, Valeria Hall (Prattville, AL;) and Bernice (Bernard) Rudolph (Prattville, AL); one brother, Charles Clay (Cleveland, OH); sisters-in-law, LouEthel Stoudemire-Gregg (Decatur, AL); Dean Stoudemire (Montgomery, AL); Lula Mae Drayton (Prattville, AL); Dottie Stoudemire (Chicago, IL); brothers-in-law, Clarence Stoudemire (Montgomery, AL); and Jessie (Sarah) Stoudemire; goddaughter, Debra Bowman (Prattville, AL); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many, many neighborhood children and friends that she loved dearly.
