Marie Crawford Obituary

Ms. Marie Kaye Crawford was born September 28, 1967 to the late Otis Crawford, Sr. and Mattie B. Crawford in Tuskegee, AL. Marie transitioned from this earthly life for eternal rest on Friday August 27, 2021 at Baptist Medical Center South, Montgomery, Alabama.

Marie was preceded in death by her parents, one brother Clemmie Crawford and two sisters: Maggie L. Crawford and Dorothy Williams.

Marie accepted Christ as her personal savior at and early age and joined Greater Saint Joseph A.M.E. Church. She was a true and faithful member until her illness.

Marie graduated from Autaugaville High School Class of 1985. She was employed by Seraaj Family Home as a Registered Foster Care Parent. She was caregiver for troubled kids, where she received kids under her wings and provided a safe and loving home for them until their family problems were resolved. Marie worked as an Independent Caregiver for many years for elderly people and children.

Marie was a loving free spirited person who was kind to everyone she came in contact with. She enjoyed going to church, listening to music, shopping, reading , puzzle books, transporting family and friends to places they need to go. She ensured you were alrigth before considering herself. Marie was always doing and giving for others. She had a heart of gold and love for everyone.

Marie leaves to cherish wonderful and loving memories to a devoted family, Her Goddaughter: Keshia R. Crawford of Prattville, AL; God Granddaughter: Tamaya N. Yancey of Prattville, AL; Two Sisters: Dianne Crawford of Prattville, AL and Mary Ashley of Montgomery, AL; Three Brothers: Otis (Genevelyn) Crawford, Jr. of Montgomery, AL; Richard and Robert Crawford of Prattville, AL; Four special nieces: Veronica Crawford (her primary caregiver) and Alecia Crawford, both of Prattville, AL; Delinda Thomas of Montgomery, AL and Kimberly Crawford of Millbrook, AL; One Aunt: Ola V. Nelson of Detroit, MI, and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. Special friends, Chalonda Davis, Lela Stoudemire and the class of 1985.
