Ms. Mary Louise Wise, a devoted mother, beloved sister, cherished grandmother and loving friend passed away peacefully on November 17, 2024 at the age of 66. She was born on May 7, 1958, in Millbrook, Alabama, to parents Willie G. Wise and Bernice Wise.
Mary Louise was a faithful member of Bethany Seventh-day Adventist Church, where her unwavering faith and loving spirit touched the lives of many.
Mary Lousie lived a beautiful life with many achievements. In 1991 she received a diploma from Trenholm College. On December 13, 2013 she graduated Cum Laude and received a Bachelor of Arts from Alabama State University. She served as the Director of Guardian Childcare for several years at Maranatha Seventh-day Adventist Church and she was the Founder and CEO of Mary’s Little Lambs Family Daycare. She also founded the non-profit organization, The Pee-Wee Group. Mary’s love for children and youth played a huge role in the lives of so many families. Mary retired from Alabama State University in 2020 and was able to rest after years of exceptional work.
She leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories for her family, including her mother Bernice Wise, her four children: D. Pierre Long (Beverly), Kamilah Leoria Long, Bruce Long II (Jennifer) and La’Darian M. Long-Hayles; her eight grandchildren: Diamond Jewel Long, Shatavia Kierra Brown, Navon Solomon Encarnacion, Samson Long, Solomon Long, Mary Long, Jade Israel Thornton, and Lauren Louise Jordan; and one great-grandchild, Zion Wesley.
Mary Louise is also survived by her nine siblings: Carolyn Brown, Lois Wise, Brenda Perry (David), Bonita Washington (Tyrone), Anthony Wise (Judy), Troman Wise (Deidre), Alicia Wise, Lew Wise and Tracy Sutters (Craig). Additionally, she leaves to mourn her passing her dear Auntie Fannie-Mae Williams, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, her church family and close friends.
Mary Louise will be remembered for her kind heart, her faith in God, her beautiful smile and her unwavering devotion to her family. She was a guiding light to all who knew her and will be deeply missed.
