Ms. Marzell Brown was born on February 3, 1948 in Autauga County to the late Roosevelt Brown, and Earline Houser Brown. She was the oldest of six children.
Two sisters preceded her in death. Her fraternal twin sister Darzell Brown, and her sister Maxine Brown Edwards.
Marzell departed this life on Saturday, January 23, 2021 at home. She accepted Christ at an early age, and she was baptized at Old Kingston Missionary Baptist Church in Old Kingston, AL. A little later in life she joined Union Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Huntsville, AL where Rev. L.F. Lacy was her pastor. She was a member of the Senior Choir at Union Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. She later moved back home to Autauga County and joined Peace Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Ervin Moore and remained there until her death.
Marzell was smart, kind, loving, and caring. She always treated people in a loving, and respectable way. She had a beautiful smile, loved to make people laugh. She loved loved to praise God, and attend church. She liked singing, reading the Bible, watching tv, playing the keyboards, and roller skating when she was younger.
Marzell attended Autauga County Training School in Autaugaville, AL. She graduated High School in 1965. She was class Salutatorian. She graduated from Alabama Agricultural and Mechanical University in Huntsville, AL on May 25, 1969, with Bachelor of Science degree. She was a member of Phi Beta Lambda Business Club. She also, received a Master of Business Administration degree from Alabama A&M University on July 24, 1987. She also worked in the Human Resources Department as the Benefit Coordinator at Alabama State University where she remained there until her retirement.
She leaves to cherish her memory: her devoted children Marchelle Henderson, Marbury, AL, and Tammie Denise Henderson Hopson (Christopher Hopson) Montgomery, AL, three brothers, Robert E. Brown (Jo Ann) Brown, Prattville, AL, Alonzo M. (Cynthia) Brown, Fort Washington, MD, and Rev. Nathaniel (Alma) Brown, Prattville, AL, four aunts, Roseada Bailey, Anniston, AL, Lionella Houser, Landover, MD, Eula Houser, Birmingham, AL, and Georgia Houser, Prattville, AL; nieces, Yolanda (Terry) McCary, Nicole (Leon) Smith; five nephews, Alonzo (Antoinette) Brown, Jr., Dwayne Brown, Reginald (Yvette) Brown, and Nathan Jacobi Brown, and a host of great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and friends.
Her most dearest friends were Louise Hunter, Rose Raines, Barbara Moore, and Linda Hunt.
