Mattie L. Minter Tyler was born in Birmingham, AL, on December 6, 1958 to the late Arthur and Parlie Lee Minter. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Arthur Minter Jr., Jackie Minter, and Henry Minter; two sisters, Daisy Jone and Parlie Lee Spidell. Mattie loved her family dearly, but shared a special love with her twin sister, the late Parlie Lee Spidell.
Mattie was the youngest of nine children. She was educated in the Birmingham School System. She moved to Autauga County in 1970 and attended Autaugaville High School. She united with Greater Mallard Chapel AME Church.
On November 4, 2004, Mattie united in Holy Matrimony to Mr. Thomas (T. T.) Tyler.
Mattie leaves to cherish her memories, a loving and devoted husband, Thomas Tyler, Prattville, AL; four sons, Darren (Nashema) Minter, Prattville, AL; Jeremy Minter, Prattville, AL; Jerrese (Matilda) Minter, Birmingham. AL; Steve Minter, Birmingham, AL; one brother, Earl Leroy Minter, Birmingham, AL; two sisters, Mary (Richard) Young, Birmingham, AL; Carrie Heard, Birmingham, AL; eleven grandchildren, two great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
