Melvin "Lydell" Dudley was the oldest of 6 children of Mary E. Howard and Will T. Dudley born on August 16, 1967 in Autaugaville, Alabama. At an early age, he professed Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Saviour. He had skills in HVAC, and later began driving 18-wheelers for Dudley Trucking. On December 25th, 2021 at Prattville Baptist Medical Center, he was summoned to lay down his sword and shield to take his rest, leaving behind his loving mother and stepfather, Mr. L.C. Howard.
He was married to Michelle Murphy Dudley. To this union, three children were born. He leaves to cherish his memories 3 beautiful daughters: Latekia Murphy (oldest), Melvina Murphy (middle), and Roshekia Murphy (youngest). Also, he leaves behind 7 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by 3 siblings: Lorenzo Dudley, Gregory Howard and Patricia Dudley. He has three living siblings: Regina Dudley Pickett (Selma, Al), Bonita Dudley (Selma, Al), and Stephanie Johnson (Akron, Ohio). Melvin leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends who love and will miss him dearly.
