Michael Howard was called home to be with the Lord on Wednesday February 16, 2022 in Birmingham, AL. He was born the last of four children to the late John L. and Reverend Beatrice Howard in Prattville, AL on October 2, 1956. His brother, Gregory Howard (Prattville, AL) preceded Michael's homegoing.
Michael accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at First Missionary Baptist Church in Prattville, AL.
Michael graduated from Autauga County High School and relocated to Bronx, New York to further his education. He attended Manhattan Community College, Manhattan, NY and earned an Associate's Degree in Economics. Michael also continued his studies at Baruch College, Manhattan, NY.
Michael moved back home to Prattville, AL from Bronx, New York later in his life. He was married to the late Iris Woods, and this union was blessed with one daughter, Julia Howard Burke.
Michael always enjoyed learning. He read both the bible and Quran for spiritual enrichment and enjoyed attending computer classes at the Prattville Senior Center.
Michael last resided at the Mount Royal Towers Nursing/Rehabilitation facility (Birmingham, AL) due to suffering a debilitating second stroke; and his health continued to decline during this time, until the Lord called him to eternal rest.
Michael leaves to cherish his many memories, one daughter, Julia Howard (Ben) Burke (Sanford, FL); one brother, John L. Howard Jr (Prattville, AL; two sisters, Evelyn (Harry) Nelson (Teaneck, NJ), April Houser (Montgomery, AL); four grandchildren, Raeanna, Veronica, Olivia, and Adrian Burke (all Sanford, FL); two uncles, Bennie (Barbara) Hadnott (Teaneck, NJ), James Hadnott (Atlanta, GA); five aunts; Nora Clark and Mary Trotman (both Concord, NC), Patricia (Charles) Smith (Denver, CO), Glenda Hadnott (Knightdale, NC); and Georgia Turner (Detroit, MI); three nieces, Brittany Nelson (Maywood, NJ), Candice Coltress, (Baltimore, MD) and Christine Coltress (Rockford,IL); three nephews, Brandon Coltress (Birmingham, AL), Byron Nelson (Washington, DC), Oliver (Kelsey) Coltress (Van Nuys, CA); and many cousins and friends.
