Nathaniel "Smokey" Matthews was born on December 02, 1952 to the late Elijah and Lena B. Matthews.
Nathaniel is preceded in death by two brothers and one sister-in-law: Freeman Matthews and Elijah (Clarissa) Matthews, Jr. ; one sister: Mary Saffold; three nephews: Ricardo Matthews, Russell and Anthony Seabon, one great-niece Lateshia Matthews.
Nathaniel leaves to cherish three caring brothers: Glenn (Louvenis ) Matthews (Prattville, Alabama); Michael and Kelvin Matthews (Autaugaville, Alabama); two Aunts: Shirley (Lewis) Sullen (Montgomery, Alabama); Carrie (Baltimore, Maryland). A very special and devoted sister-in-law: Sharon DeRamus and devoted friend Wilford Davis. A host of nieces, great-nieces, nephews, and kids that called him Uncle.
