God sent into this world Nellie B. Whetstone, who was to be the only girl born to Robert Sr. and Mary Houser, Amongst four boys, her brothers, Robert Jr., Arthur Lee, Otha Lee (aka Tiny), and Jesse (all of whom preceded her in death). Nellie was educated through the Autauga County Training School System.
She was a member of Greater St. Joseph A>M.E. Church, where she served faithfully until her health started to decline. She served on the Usher board for over 50 years, on the Kitchen committee, worked the youth department, and wherever else her services were needed. Nellie B.
loved life and people, gardening with food and flowers to laughing, talking, and telling stories of yesteryear. All who knew her should remember her favorite saying, "Going Dancing with the Boys".
Nellie B. was married to the late Minister Charles Whetstone for 38 years, and she was blessed with four children: Willie Mae Spann, Richard Houser Sr. (both preceded her in death), Bertha, and Betty.
She leaves to cherish her memory: daughters Bertha Minor and Betty (Kenneth) Thomas, 10 Grandchildren, 17 Great Grandchildren, 7 Great Great Grandchildren, Stepchildren: Shirley (Elliot) Brown, Charles (Angela) Whetstone, Alexander (Lois) Whetstone, Steven Whetstone, DeRay Whetstone, Eric Whetstone, Jerome Whetstone, and Tony Whetstone; Sister-in-law Geraldine Houser, Daughter-in-law Shirley Houser, a devoted niece Sara Lewis, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and caring friends. Devoted friends, William and Willie Frazier.
