Odell (Church) Fearson

Odell Church Fearson was born on February 16, 1928 in Hatchechubbee,  AL. Our Sweet mother departed this life on Monday February 8, 2021 in Montgomery, AL at the age of 92. Mother Odell accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at the age of 85 on August 11, 2013 and was baptized on August 18, 2013 at Zion Hill Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Madison Evans. Mother Odell loved her church and her Pastor.

Mother Odell was a fun loving person who was a joy to be around. She was a hardworking person all her life. She loved sewing, making unique quilts and working in the garden. She was a funny person. While riding around looking at everything she would often tell the driver that you are going the wrong way and to turn this or that way. She had a  healthy appetite and would eat all the food on her plate. Every morning and night she would have a cup of coffee with french vanilla cream. Some of her favorite snacks were vanilla ice cream, sweet potatoes, and watermelon.  When she got excited her favorite saying was " OH BOY"! . Her favorite color was Red.

Mother Odell's favorite television shows were: The Golden Girls; Sanford and Son; Good Times; Little House on the Prairie; and the Jeffersons.

Mother Odell had sixteen children and leaves beautiful memories to be cherished by her 12 remaining children: (Six Daughters) Linda Kimbrough (Kenneth); Phenix City, AL; Eva Mae Fearson, Columbus, GA; Shelley Fearson, Montgomery, AL; Shirley Fearson, Hatchechubbee, AL; Mary Lucas (Micheal) , Phenix City, AL; Patricia Ann Fearson, Phenix City, AL; (Six Sons): David Lee Fearson, Atlanta, GA; Tommy Church (Ovivian), Phenix City, AL; Roosevelt Fearson, Phenix City, AL; Retired Colonel James A. Fearson, Fayetteville, GA; Frederick Fearson, Hutchechubbee, AL; Kendrick Fearson, Montgomery, AL. She also leaves thirty six great grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Mother Odell was preceded in death by her parents: Johnnie Church and Millie Church;  four children: Preston Church, Louise Williams, Willie James Church and Jimmie Lee Church;  Nine Brothers and Sisters: Wilbur  Ashton, Lula Bell Palmer, Laura Mae Church, Arthur Church, Isaiah Church, Johnny Church, (Uncle Jr.) Anna Bell Church, Rozelle Richardson and Louise Kizzie. Mother was the last living sibling out of 9 sisters and brothers. We Present to you the Matriach of the Family. First Lady Odell Church Fearson.
